These cases are mostly what the 'talkies' aimed for 24 hours - 7days. There are even signs to look out for in a suspect. For example;
- the number plate of the suspects vehicle is broken off or "dissappeared";
- they wear black or dark jacket & pants;
- and slowly ride their vehicle near to target motorcycle/car/person.
It is a good reminder for a person to be AWARE of their surroundings, and DO NOT leave bags visible in a car. Even if we have to hide the bags underneath the car seats, make sure its done when the surrounding is clear.."suspects" are always on the lookout. "They" will see your body bend down to hide something underneath your car seats..encouraging "them" to break your car window and take whatever you are hiding. Even if your bag has nothing important, you have a broken car window to repair.
The paper also reported that "There are 1,409 neighbourhood watch teams, consisting of some 70,000 volunteers nationwide." This doesn't mean that we can take this for granted. Remember that Prevention is Always Better than Cure..
Below are some important contact list of the Neighbourhood Watch Team (it is also called PASUKAN KESELAMATAN SUKARELA KADUN BUKIT MERTAJAM) which you can contact if you have an emergency. It is also adviseable to know your local's Team & Police contact number, for their prompt action.
